Welcome to the ALS Support Group Website!
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord which causes the affected individual to lose the ability to move, speak, swallow, and eventually breathe.
At this time, there is no known cure for ALS; however, there is hope through research in finding a cure and ensured quality of care to help individuals and families meet the daily challenges of living with this difficult disease.
